| UKTV STYLE "THE WOW FACTOR" in association with Faber Fires |
 |
Selected by the programme’s award winning interior designer Tara Bernerd, the Faber Ease fire was part of a step-by-step designer transformation that created
high-end urban style in a country cottage in nearby
Tring.
Installation of the Fire
The Hertfordshire
Fireplace Gallery was
chosen to do the installation. The programme’s tight
filming schedule meant that the whole transformation
had to be completed within four days and engineers,
Jason and Steve, had to work within short deadlines
and around other trades.
Neil Stean, proprietor of The Hertfordshire Fireplace Gallery, explains, “It was a great experience being approached to be part of a national TV programme and there was no margin for any sort of delay on this installation as time was at a premium. Not only that, the actual room was very small and our engineers Jason and Steve had to also work around the film crew!” he says.
Design
London-based Tara’s design for the room put the Ease with stainless steel frame and white pebble fuel bed as the focal point, offset by a bright orange wall. Deep colours, mirrors, leather shelves and textured wall and floor coverings completed the look.

| CHANNEL 4 "THE PROPERTY LADDER" in association with Magiglo and Capital Fireplaces |
 |
 |
The
Hertfordshire Fireplace Gallery was recently
featured on the popular Channel 4 television
programme Property Ladder installing a Magiglo gas fire. The new Allusion fire was chosen for the programme because
of the style and criteria which the owners of
the property were trying to achieve and the Allusion
‘fitted the bill’ on all aspects. The Barcelona
cast iron combination fireplace from the Capital
Collection was chosen for the upstairs bedroom.
The Featured Property
The chosen property was a tiny Victorian cottage in Hertford and the plans included a relocation of the kitchen to the front of the house, moving the lounge to the back and then building out into the courtyard with a glass walled extension, plus a full renovation of all the other rooms in the house. Having bought the house for £170,000 Karen allocated a budget of a mere £20,000 for the work.
Fitting the Fire and Fireplace
When it came to choosing a gas fire for the lounge
Karen turned to the experience of Neil Stean
owner of the Hertfordshire Fireplace Gallery. Neil
supplied and fitted the Allusion gas fire which
resulted in an immediate and dramatic transformation
of the living room area. The Hertfordshire
Fireplace Gallery are authorised Magiglo retailers and work from their showroom at Potters Bar.
The Chosen Fire
The Allusion gas fire, is available in two sizes 16” and 22”, it offers a heat output of up to 4kW (22” model), has the option of hand-held remote control and features a choice of three Dimension fascias. The one chosen by Karen was the metallic gunmetal/silver to complement the mirror and the subtle tones of her lounge, but metallic bronze/champagne and metallic black/white options are also available |
